Abby Pajakowski is a writer, performer, clown, and educator in Chicago. They have been an ensemble member of The Neo-Futurists since 2020 and Education Coordinator since 2022, writing and performing over 120 original short plays in The Infinite Wrench. They have produced, written, and performed two full-length shows: The King, a two-clown adaptation of Machiavelli’s The Prince (co-created with Will Sonheim) and I am myself alone by me John Wilkes Booth (co-created with Sammy Zeisel). They produced and curated Potluck Variety Hour for five years and have appeared in a wide array of variety hours across the city, including Chicago International Physical Theater Festival, Scratch Night, Heels over Head, and Hot Kitchen Collective’s 13 Love Songs. Abby also produced and curated Plays for One, a festival of work created by Chicago artists, designed for audiences of one. As an actor, Abby has performed at Steppenwolf, Roundabout, Red Theater, Steep, and in Work in Progress on Showtime. They received their B.A. in Theater with a Devising & Adaptation Concentration at Northwestern University and a Masters in Applied Theater in the Criminal Justice System at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. They have created theater with incarcerated adults and youth throughout Chicago, Michigan, and England, and are an adjunct professor at North Park University. 


Workshops and Guest Lectures

I have years of experience teaching and facilitating theater with people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. I offer workshops on writing personal theater, clowning, devised theater, adaptation, and melding theater and social engagement. Past workshops have included Write Like a Fool (The Neo-Futurists), Performance & Social Change (North Park University), Ensemble & Play (MCC Federal Prison), Visceral Theater (NHSI Cherubs Program), & Beginner-Advanced Improvisation Classes (Improv Playhouse).
